{Mother's Day Weekend!!}

Monday, May 12, 2008
This weekend was the first time in a long time where Ryan and I didn't find ourselves on the couch exhausted from taking care of Braeden. It seemed like this weekend would never end. Ryan had Saturday off, so we actually got an extra day together which was nice. Friday night was the Vu (I had won an office party, Saturday was Ashli's birthday BBQ, bowling, and Sevens, and of course, Sunday was MOTHER'S DAY!!

Can you tell we had to get a little creative with the toothpicks?

SUNDAY finally came around and it was a huge day for Ryan, Braeden and I. Braeden was dedicated at my Church, Broaday Christian, and afterwards my family and I went out to eat at a small restaurant called Heuers ... yum! Then, we celebrated my FIRST MOTHER'S DAY!! That sounds incredibly weird to me still! This was also Ryan and I's anniversary.

So I didn't expect to post anything else tonight, but I found this video and loved it. Ahh to be young again! Enjoy!

{Did You Expect Anything Else?}

Alright, so I just took these and I couldn't resist ... do you blame me? Today was a rainy day, and I was stuck inside all day, and couldn't help but take MORE pictures of Braeden.

This last picture makes me laugh every time. Don't you just wonder what he's thinking?

{The Invitation}

Tuesday, May 6, 2008
The invitations have arrived! I am happy to present the most beautiful invitations I have ever seen... the picture does not do justice. The paper is a metallic white which is wrapped in a creme bru le coverlet. When I get time to assemble the invitations, I will take a picture of the final product. For now, the proof will have to do!

The only difference in this picture and the actual invitation is that at the bottom it will read ... "A Favour of a Reply, etc."

{Ready, Set, GO}

Yesterday Ryan & I went to Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois with a group of people from Jeff City. It was a really early morning for everyone, and I had forgotten what it was like to get on a party bus at 6:00 AM drinking Cosmo's and trying to hang for the entire event! It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive to Madison. Ryan was getting busy with the beers and I was drinking cosmopolitans all morning long. As soon as we arrived, we had to park the coach bus about a mile and a half away.

I had never been to a drag race before, let alone a professional drag race. It was amazing. The sound that those "cars" make is amazing. I didn't have any idea until you actually lose you breath while they speed by.

It was hot, we were standing, and we were drunk ... not a good combination! By around 3:00 Ryan and I could not hang any longer. We left the stands and went and found a cool place to sit down. Both of us had MEGA headaches, and all I could think about was our bed ... it was terrible.
We finally had to walk a mile back to the bus, and wait for the rest of the group to get back (who all were still drinking!). Thank God the bus was air conditioned. The whole trip back I was fighting trying not to get sick, but my persistence failed and I got sick on the ride home ... I think Ryan is going to have to go solo next year. Even thought I felt awful, I did get some pictures of the event. If you ever have a chance to go, you should at least once!

I forgot to mention that I have a new favorite in Racing. HER name is Ashley Force. Ryan and I waited in line and I was able to get her to sign a little shirt we had bought for Braeden. She signed it ... "To Braeden, Ashley Force"

{Braeden & Six Months}

Having a six-month-year-old is exhausting, but it's times like these you just can't help but think you have the most perfect baby in the world! I just thought I would share some of the most recent pictures I have captured in the last couple of days!
