Pampered Mom's Summer S'mores Bar

Wednesday, July 27, 2016
This past weekend we had a few of our neighborhood friends over for a super casual night.  The boys and I made homemade icecream and then at the last minute we decided to make some s'mores.  But not just your "usual go-to s'mores," nooo... we needed MORE!

Our Summer S'mores bar included:
Honey, Chocolate, and Cinnomon Graham Crackers
Strawberry and Reg. Marshmallows
Hershey's Milk Chocolate, Hershey's Cookies n' Cream Chocolate, and Chocolate Mint Patties

YUMMO!

One of our favorite combos ...

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
1. Choc Graham Cracker
2. Strawberry Marshmallow
3. Milk Chocolate

 Hope you all Enjoy!

Fourth of July :: Summer 2016

Sunday, July 10, 2016
Our tradition of taking the boys photos on the tree lined driveway at Ryan's Grandmothers home was completed again this year. I am so thankful that we have a beautiful place to capture these moments.

As I was editing them late the other night, I had a moment of ... wow, the boys look like this?  When you see them every moment of every day, you don't notice the small changes.  I can't believe how grown up they are getting.  These strong, loving, and caring boys are growing up before my eyes, and I am so proud of the young men they are becoming.

Breaden has begun to love photography, the first two photos are ones that he took himself ... not too bad!

Mother's Day 2016

Thursday, May 12, 2016

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! Amen to all the mom's who keep their family organized, work, clean, and multi-task the family's calendar.  Lord knows I had one heck of a mentor!  Love you Mom!

I had to share this on the blog today, I couldn't let it go any longer.  This Mother's Day was rough. I had run a race on Saturday and really pushed myself too hard and ended up with a mini heat stroke.  So, needless to say, I had to really take it easy and rest.  Ryan and I picked out stone for the front of the house and he put it in while I rested.  I am totally impressed!  I just think it turned out perfect and turned our boring outside, into something we can really be proud about!

For Mother's Day he gave me a pedicure gc ... because he worked so hard, I begged him to go with me and rest his feet too ... so I had a pedi day with the hubs!  Then the  most wonderful Italian for dinner.  I was totally spoiled, but I am so blessed and appreciative of my sweet boys!

What's your Children's Nightly Routine?

Tuesday, August 4, 2015
It's something so mundane for us, the nightly routine before bedtime, rarely thought about, it's just more of a motion for us.  I took a photograph last night of Bayler sneaking out of his room.  I had caught him a few times before, so I quickly grabbed for my camera before he tried it again.  The photo alone got a lot of attention on social media.  It was a black & white, still frame photo, but I believe showed true innocence of my Bear.

It gave me a thought, of capturing, in black and white our nightly routine.  SO, although I was one step away from the emergency room from pain [another story for another time] I quickly documented the boys.  I got a few weird looks at first, but the camera was quickly forgotten.

What are you and your kids nightly routines?

A Story of Two Families ...

Tuesday, July 14, 2015
This blog has long served as my creative outlet.  I was actually surprised on how little information about me and my family I have provided over these past 8 years.  EIGHT years, can you believe it?!

Although this story isn't about me per-se, it is about a family member and has always made me step back and think ... this is truly a small world after all!  Have you ever really had a moment, where all other coincidences seem so small in comparison?

This is a story of my Grandma Joy, my Mom's mother, and how a hat with a small town logo dug up
a long history of two families and their personal story.  The photos below is of my Grandmother Joy, sent to my bestie, C, from her cousins, which she later sent to me.

There are probably many renditions of this very story, but I will tell it how I remember and what I know to be true.

When I was around 8 years old, I was put on an All-Star softball team.  This consisted of girls from all over the town, on different teams, chosen to be on this select team to compete for State.  I had known C, she and I went to school together the year before, and we were going to be in school together now until we finished HS.  We also knew each other through Softball, which if you had played for any amount of time, you knew who everyone was.  On this specific day, we were practicing, C as catcher, and myself directly in front of her in center field.  The day in age where no matter how long you practiced, parents still stayed the entire time to watch and help [where did these days go??]  Her father sat on the bleachers and close by was my mom and dad.  J, her father was wearing a ball cap with the words, Wyaconda written visibly on the crown.  You, like probably 99% of all other people would walk by and probably not even notice OR think to yourself, what the heck is Wyaconda?  I am not sure who first said something, my mom or dad, but either way, one of them noticed J's hat and instantly had a connection.  You see, my mother's side of the family was from Wyaconda, Missouri, a small, rural town in the Northeast part of the state.  A town that would go virtually unnoticed if accidently left off the map.  HOWEVER, there are a few people who do know this small town and how interesting that our families were both familiar?!

The rest of the story goes something like this ...

When my grandmother was out of High School, my now grandfather, then her fiancĂ©, left for the Navy, leaving her behind.  She moved back to her hometown, Wyaconda and began teaching in a one-room school house.  Interestingly enough, back then, the teacher would live with another family during the school year.  Insert C's great-grandparents.  My grandmother lived with her family while teaching and living in the same area.  Get that small world feeling yet?  How about when her great-grandparents had a child, a daughter, they named her Joy, after my grandmother.  Chills.

Now, through the power of technology and ease of sending information through family members, our "Joys" still talk and send letters.  Photos of the times they lived together and shared memories are evident in photos through both sides of the family.  Last Summer while visiting with my mom and Aunts, flipping through photo boxes and albums, we ran across photos of C's family.  It's amazing to me how C and I found each other, and how we share this unique story.

To this day I have always thought of C as family, but this, this makes it real.  I never had a sister of my own, but our friendship feels like one to me.

Texas Tulip Farm 2015

Monday, March 30, 2015
** Post Warning :: WAYY too many photos **

We found a little gem in North Texas today ...and when we say "little gem," we mean the Jewel of Spring!  We are so lucky there is a brand new Tulip Farm just North of Frisco.  This is the first year of Texas Tulips in Pilot Point, TX, but today, it became a Springtime Tradition for the Imhoff Family.

Rows and rows of Tulips in all different colors lined the country side, it was one of the most beautiful sights I have seen since moving here in August.  Open from February to April, this farm allows you to "pick your own" flowers and every possible photo opportunity for families and children of all ages.  You'll notice I had a hard time choosing just a few :)

It was pefect for us to snap a few [ahem] a LOT of photos just in time for Easter.  We also picked quite a few tulips for the kids teachers and our own Easter Table for brunch.

If you're in North Texas during the months of Feb - April, you'll need to make sure Texas Tulips is a stop you make!  You won't regret it and we're already looking forward to next year!

Happy Easter!
