{Swiffer Wet-Jet Refills a DIY}

Hey Yall!

Having two kids {young kids} and trying to keep a tidy/clean house is always a task. I scrub and clean the floors daily, just to try and keep up. SO, when it comes time to buy cleaning products, I want the best, but I also want the best prices. It's a toss up. I love the name brand items, but spending a ton on them is just simply not an option.

Much like making my own Frabrez now, I have found a new way to clean my floors on the cheap :) Thank you Pinterest!

I currently use the Swiffer Wet-Jet to clean my floors after I have swept. One bottle usually lasts me a week ... not much! So spending $5.00 on refills is getting pretty expensive. Now, after using my own floor cleaner, I spend about 20 cents a week! Can a get a big "Heck Ya!"

Once you are down with a wet-jet bottle, SAVE IT! Bring a pot of water to boil and rest your empty wet-jet bottle inside.

The water and steam with loosen the cap. I usually leave mine in for a minute or 2, but that's all that is really necessary.

Remove the bottle (USE HAND TOWELS, it will be VERY hot!!) and remove the cap by twisting!

Now use your own floor cleaner in the bottle by replacing the cap, and using your Swiffer Wet-Jet!

I tried it today! It worked! I used 1/4 cup of Mr. Clean Gain scent (yum), filled the rest up with warm water. I twisted the cap back on and then gently tipped it up and down a few times. Next, I stuck it back onto the pole and voila. No rinsing needed, worked great on my tile and my laminate flooring. No visual reside. I also used a microfiber rag/towel instead of the pad. It worked pretty well, you just have to make sure you drape it over the Velcro that's on there, and make sure not to cover up the hole where the liquid comes out. Very awesome. I shared your link on my facebook status too. Thanks for saving me money. I took myself out to lunch since I didn't have to run to buy more cleaner! Woohooooo!
